Ashna Kor Bagh-e-Haram Lund Khwar Mardan, Peshawar ,
Hailing from Lund Khwar (Ashna Kor, Bagh e Haram) Mardan of khyber Pukhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan Mohammad Israr Atal has not only graduated his Masters Degree in Pashto Literature with Gold Medal but has also obtained his second degree in Mass Communication & Journalism from the University of Peshawar and has currently completed his Ph.D. thesis on the critical review of the Pashto Reportage in the flow of History. Having a multi-dimensional personality, Atal is not only a good academic and broadcaster along with a programme producer and journalist but has also won a great acclaim as a young and talented poet of the Pashto Language. Highly talented, creative and skilful Radio Program Producer, Atal has more than six years of experience in controlling the output of radio programs; generating ideas to editing and presenting; selecting music, scheduling, scriptwriting and researching. He has worked at almost all the major Televisions stations and FM Radio channels of Pashto Language, both in Pakistan and Afghanistan, as a News Reporter, Anchor, Script Writer and Producer. Atal joined PACT Radio in August 2008 as a Senior Producer (Culture & Literature) whereby his responsibilities include production of reports and documentaries on social, cultural and literary events in Pakistan and Afghanistan along with chairing and coordinating editorial meetings and training of cultural reporters in production of audio reports for PACT Radio live and pre-recorded shows broadcast on cross border radio stations. Atal also works as an Editor for PACT’s Borderline Magazine. Atal has recently joined MASHAAL Radio as a Reporter (Culture & Literature). Poetry is another vivid aspect of Atal, where by his first book of poetic collections named Zyer Mazigare Pa Pekhawar ki has already touched the market shelves. The singular distinction of Atal’s poetry – aside from his obvious poetic genius – is a profound blend of knowledge about his native Pukhtun culture, history, traditions and customs and his love for the Pushto language and Pukhtun nation. His poetry shows deep empathy, compassion and insight into the socio-political and cultural life of the Pashtoons. His poems always portray his views of Pashtoons as a peace-loving nation to the world. His poetry testifies to his ability of versifying his emotions adroitly, elegantly and smartly.
