Establishment : In 1968 it was raised from Public school to Inter College. Then in 1972, Degree classes were introduced . Since its establishment, College has shown progress both in the academic field as well as Extra curricular activities. It also holds the Pride of the 'Position Gaining College' in the town. The students of F.G. Sir Syed College are showing excellent results in every Department & Field they join after Graduating from the college, thus bringing a good name for the college.s

The institution began as a Public School in 1958. In 1968 it was raised to an Inter College. Degree Classes (Bachelors) were introduced in 1972. The schools and college wings were separated in 1975 as independent institutions.

Al-Khair University (AJK) is a chartered University established in 1994 under an enactment of the Legislative Assembly of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It is the First private University in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Fourth of its kind in Pakistan. The main objective for the establishment of the University in private sector was to supplement the public sector education, which had reached saturation point in the spreading of professional, scientific and technological education in the country. The Higher Education Commission Islamabad vide their letter No. 16-08/HEC/A&A/2011/903 dated 17-10-2011 has allowed the Al-Khair University (AJK) to admit students in degree programs in Management Science, Computer Science, Pakistan Studies, Islamic Studies, Education and Urdu.
