Quetta 4x4 off road & adventure club
Salam to all facebook users and especially to off-roaders. Off-roading as they call it a sport, but only technical brave hearts play it, others just watch and say wow. Here we are some friends from Baluchistan joining the family of off roaders Pakistan. Choosing players and collecting them under one flag here, was an uphill task, considering the current situation of our province. But yes there are some men who really want to play the sound of their Jeeps in the rugged unchartered terrain of the wild wild west of Pakistan, we call it local Mexico. It took me more than one year to find like-minded friends with zeal to scale the hills by jeeps not by foot. Interestingly though in every house here, there is one or two climbers and hikers but jeeps are kept for reaching the base camps. The biggest problem was to find members with clean legal jeeps for the club, as we were approached by individuals with vehicles having unauthorized paper, jeeps roaring like caged monsters but we wanted no weapons no drugs no illegal stuff. All this was decided in the first meeting of our executive committee comprising the founder, president, admin, mechanical, procurement and support teams.
We are now called Quetta 4X4 & adventure club, AKA Quetta 4x4 club. A gathering was called on urgent basis and in a very local style on just an hour’s notice; every member was ready as they are every day for any adventure.
With 16 members and Jeeps we hit our first event as a GT picnic sort of thing and went to Shaban, which turned out to be a hard-core off-road Mud Crossing. One of the member hosted a party at his beautiful village. Camping across the Dam there, added a special thrill to the entire event.
Many of you might know me because Babar Khan of Frontier 4x4 club is my best buddy. I have been on many events with him and was present in his premier show Malam Jabba snow rally as well. He came here all the way from Peshawar just to give us his valuable advice and pushed me to make it happen here. Thanks BK. Choosing an appropriate name for the coveted club was also very difficult. Many trendy and catchy names came under consideration but again, as it is our culture here, consultation and one decision, Quetta 4x4 was agreed upon. It was also very difficult to make understand many of our friends that it is 4x4 off-roading club because many don’t like it hard off-roading all the time, so to make every one happy, we call it now 4x4 adventure club, because we would be focusing on both.
