Tareen Education Foundation (TEF) is a nonprofit organisation established under The Societies Registration Act of 1860 with a mandate to improve quality of education in Pakistan. Its special focus is provision of education to marginalised communities, such as the rural poor and women, who are so often ignored from development interventions by the public sector or by international aid agencies. TEF feels that it has the responsibility and the capacity to help these communities educate themselves and become productive and active citizens of Pakistan. Our objective is to create an enabling environment that increases students’ understanding of social issues, to develop their faculties of critical analysis and independent thinking, to polish their communication and articulation skills, and to make them active citizens of Pakistan. Currently, TEF is working in districts Rahim Yar Khan, Ghotki and Lodhrhan. In these districts, it has adopted a number of government schools under Memoranda of Understanding signed with respective District Governments. The Foundation has provided missing infrastructure, additional teachers, teachers training, supplementary books, teaching and learning aids, and sports equipment and training as tools for improving quality of education in these schools. It has also developed effective systems of social mobilisation and monitoring and evaluation to improve governance and service delivery in adopted schools. TEF operations are largely supported by generous contributions from Mr. Jahangir Khan Tareen and business enterprises that he controls.

This college was established in 1988 on 26 Acres Land having covered area 14,3590sft. The College is situated at a distance of 7.5 KM from Tokhar Niaz-Baig on the right side of the Raiwind Road, Lahore. The classes of DAE in Electronics, Electrical and Civil Technologies were shifted from G.C.T, Railway Road, to this new built campus in September 1988. Computer Information, Environmental Control and Bio-Medical Technologies were started in 2000, 2003 and 2004 respectively under Asian Development Bank Assisted Technical Education Project. The post diploma of H.N.D (Telecom) started in 2006. The B.Tech. Degree program in Electrical & Electronics Technologies started in 2006.

The Punjab Group of Colleges established its first facility, the Punjab College of Commerce. In 1985 in Muslim Town on Canal Bank in Lahore, followed a few years later by the Punjab Law College. Since then the Punjab Group (PGC) has successfully branched out into various cities of Punjab. Following arrangements with foreign accredited universities, Punjab College of Business Administration (PCBA) was established in 1991 and Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS), in 1993, at Lahore.
