Govt. College of Commerce was established in 1959, as an intermediate college. at that time this college was known as "Chupper College". Mr. Shabbir Ahmad Siddiqi was its first principal. In 1979 this istitute attained the status of Commerce College. The College started M.Com slasses in 1994 under the eiges of Mr. Safdar Hussain Safdar(late). Since its inception, the college has contributed a lot to the well-being of the students of the region. Total area of Govt. College of Commerce college is 80 Kanals (43200 sq. ft.), out of which the covered area is 79913 sq. ft. and un-covered area is 352087 sq. ft. Total covered area of the Academic Block is 23920 sq. ft., and the hostel bulding is covered around in two portions i.e.9000 sq. ft. and 6000 sq. ft. Total covered area for the Staff Colony is approxmately 5000 sq. ft. . This area consist of near about twenty five residences. from almost all kind of staff members
