The purpose of education is to enable mankind to know himself and to pave the right way for his life. Consequently, he should devote his life to the obedience of Allah and in performing his duties to mankind. Hence, the intention of one's life should be the struggle for getting Allah's will through His obedience and adoration.
Allah, the Almighty, emphasizes the importance of education by starting its revelation with the word “Iqra†(Read). And the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was sent as a teacher. It is the duty of a teacher to guide the pupil in a manner that can strengthen his belief and can be proved a source of progress in his noble passion.
It is compulsory for all related to the education and training, whether they are parents or the teachers, that they should remember their Creator and the purpose of their creation in every passing moment. As a result, they should own a careful behavior. The students must be provided with such an atmosphere that can be helpful in seeking knowledge and developing their natural potentials.
If these noble feelings were the real foundation of the educational institutions in the Muslim World they would succeed in putting a halt to the prevailing purposeless system of education that has resulted in the division between the religious and worldly education. And the new generation would have been made aware of the real goals in life.
