University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore
The University of Engineering and Technology at Lahore, , is a public research university located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The UET is noted as being one of the oldest institution of higher learning in Pakistan with a strong emphasis and focus on the development of science and engineering.Established in 1922 with an efforts led by the Edward McLagan and the British government, it is one of the top institution of higher learning in the country and ranked among one of the top ten universities in "engineering technology" category by the HEC, as of 2013. In addition, the UET secured its ranking in 300 top institution for science and technology by the QS World University Rankings in 2010. UET also conducts Engineering College Admission Test every year in the province of Punjab. The university is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities of the United Kingdom.The university offers academic programmes in undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral studies in the disciplines of engineering, business management, law, philosophy, natural and social sciences. The university is organized into seven faculties of science with administrating of 23 research departments. Since its establishment, country's most notable scholars and academicians have been affiliated with the university as an alumnus, research, and faculty.
