........A Brief on Skardu Baltistan (N.A)......................
Baltistan also known as the little “TIBET†is located in the heart of the snow capped Karakorum Mountains of Pakistan and its boarders touch with China, India, Kashmir, Hunza and Nagar. Skardu is the capital of Baltistan. The starting points its various valleys namely Shigar, Kharmang, Khaplu, Roundu and Gultari. There are 11 mountains peaks ranging 6,000 meters to 8,611 meters. The worldly second highest peak K-2 stands in Shigar valley. Summers in Baltistan are pleasant but its winters are very harsh. People of this area are very docile and simple by nature. It’s wealth of fruit trees, such a apricots, apples, mulberries, plums, walnuts and almonds make Baltistan is the home of some finest fruit products. Baltistan is also known for its abundance of apricots, which play a major role in Balti’s diet. Besides of fruits and others Natural resources Baltistan is very rich in mining. We can found Very precious stones from the mountains but due to lack resources persons and skilled hands the precious stones are still buried. Al-mighty God had blessed the area with numerous wealth but due to lack education and resources the area is still backward and neglected. Introduction NEED FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT: Today, those nations and countries who developed their education system have reached to the moon. They have discovered hidden facts of life and are trying to discover mars and other planets of the universe. They have discovered hidden truth of skies, earth, seas, mountains, space, animals, humans and other creatures of the universe. Invention of computer and internet are the example of their development. Pakistan is an under developed country. There are many problems and hurdles to face. Especially in the field of education, the standard of education and literacy rate is very low. In the light of these conditions it is difficult to educate the new generation but not impossible. Because these days we have to spend a lot of money even to buy a single word and only wealthy people can afford this. Poor people can't provide this expensive education to their children or in other words they are deprived off from the quality education. Northern areas specially Skardu is the most distant and under developed area of the Baltistan. The people of Baltistan are deprived off not only from the basic necessities of life but also from the fundamental need of this modern era that is education etc. So under these circumstances it was the needs of time to establish a comprehensive education plan for the poor and orphan children in the northern areas to brighten their future so that they can contribute toward the country's development.
Allhamd-ul-allah Bord of governors of northern areas and Balti people took theirresponsibility. This plan was in their mind from many years and to fulfill this plan they devoted their full time and struggle. Fortunately, with the blessings of Allah they got very noble and enthusiastic company.
Due to their cooperation and struggle a standard quality institute by the name “ Public School†was established in Skardu. Their Future plan is to take this primary school to the high school level and then to college level. . Pick and drop facility is also provided to them. Presently, almost 2000 girls & boys Students Nursery to bachelor class are gating education from this institution and in future there is a possibility that this limit will exceed to 5000. There are some handicap students as well as and school administration provide them all the things including books, uniform, copies, bags etc. The most important and bright aspect of this school regarding rules and regulation of admission is that in this institution the talented, enthusiastic and competative children from every walk of life irrespective of their cast, race, color can take admission. All the teachers are well qualified. There are ten lady and three male teachers as well as who have five year experience in this field of teaching and are performing their duty with full devotion and courage.
public school is showing the true picture of the struggle of its founders who have proved this thing that “where there is a will there is a wayâ€. As the basic purpose of establishment of this school is to educate those poor and orphan children who can't afford quality education, so we can hope that wealthy and rich people will also contribute in this struggle and give their donations to school.
The numbers of Students has increased to 2214. the number of staff consist of a Prince, vice Principal, teachers & supporting Staff. The school claims to provide the following services to its students on a purely charitable & non profit basis.

. As the number of students is increasing every year the collegel has reported that the following facilities & services are being added to the School:- ? Additional ten class room & Nine Bath rooms construction by Marafi foundation. ? Office / examination Hall Construction with the support by Marafi foundation & LBRD Skardu.
