Hazara Public School & College Haripur
Until 1980 there was mostly primary and few middle schools functioning in private sector in Haripur. After passing Middle standard examination of the children the only option left with the parents was either to admit them again in the Govt. institution or if financially possible, to send them outside the city for further education because there was no private institution in the city to provide hig
her education to the students.
Presence of a prestigious educational private institution for higher education of the
children was thus a long felt need and ever increasing demand of parents in Haripur.
Looking into the genuine need and demand Madam Rashda Zulfiqar accepted the challenge and decided to establish a new institution with a aim to build up alround personality of students, both intellectual and moral, by imparting quality education which could develop confidence, discipline and strong character amongst them.
After obtaining formal approval from Education Department Govt. of K.P.K. Peshawar this institution was established and Primary department of the school started functioning from 1st January 1981 under the supervision of Madam Rashda Zulfiqar being Principal of the school.
Confidence of parents and students increased day by day and school was upgrade to matric level in 1985 and got affiliated with BISE Peshawar.
During the year 1985 the only private school of Haripur whose students appeared in the Matriculation examination of the BISE, Peshawar was "HAZARA PUBLIC SCHOOL" which has thus the honour to be the "FIRST REGULAR PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL" of Haripur city.
Result of matriculation examination always remained 100% and being satisfied with the best standard of education, school was granted permanent affiliation upto Matric level in 1989 by Director of Education (Schools) of K.P.K. Peshawar.
In 1991 School was upgraded to F.Sc level and got affiliated with newly established BISE Abbottabad. Once again the only private educational institution of Haripur whose students for the first time appeared in F.Sc examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Abbottabad was "HAZARA PUBLIC SCHOOL AND COLLEGE HARIPUR" which has thus again the honour to be the FIRST REGULAR PRIVATE COLLEGE OF HARIPUR.
